FISHING RODEO!

kids Fishing in Stream
The Parks and Rec Commission and the Seymour Fish and Game Club will co-host the annual Children’s Fishing Rodeo.
Saturday, May 10, rain or shine at Kirk’s Pond on Route 67, next to Town Hall.
*Fishing will begin at 8 a.m. sharp so participants are advised to arrive a little early to get their spot by the water.
*Pre-registration is not required, Oxford Residents Only. 
*Prizes will be given in various age categories 12-15, 10-11, 8-9, 6-7 and under 6 only with adult supervision.
*All prizes will be awarded at 10 a.m. and winners must be present at that time to accept their award.

Fishing Rodeo Information
  • Kirk's Pond (next to Town Hall)
  • promptly at 8am-10am.
  • Free for Oxford children up to 15 years old
  • Prizes in all age categories at 10am. (Winners need to be present for prize).
  • Free refreshments for participants and their families.
  • BRING YOUR OWN FISHING POLE
  • RAIN OR SHINE
  • No need to preregister.....you register at the event upon arrival so arrive early!
  • Co Hosted by the Seymour Fish and Game Club
  • REFRESHMENTS GENEROUSLY PROVIDED BY THE OXFORD LIONS CLUB

Fishing Hints &Tips
What works:
* Earthworms
* Mealworms
* Power Bait (Ok, but not the best)
Do not use large bobbers- nothing larger than a golf ball. When it hits the water, the splash scares the fish.
The bobber should be at least 3 feet away from the hook.
